Elite Waterman Jamie Mitchell Embarks On 170 Mile Paddle of The Channel Islands Just One Day After Tragedy  Los Angeles, Calif. (September 2019) — On Sept 2nd professional big wave surfer and 10-time paddle champion Jamie Mitchell awoke to the news of the MV Conception tragedy off Santa Cruz island. Why I'm here

The ocean has provided me and my family an amazing life.  It's time for me to give back. I live on an island. I see the fish on our reefs and the food we eat. I see the pollution from our products, the gas we put in our cars. I know we don’t have oil on our island. I know we have to ship oil in.
